First Ultrasound

We actually SAW our baby today for the first time with our own eyes! It was the most incredible and joyful five minutes of my entire life! I did not want it to end. I could have watched that tiny little person on the screen for hours. He or she is 2.75 cm long and weighs less than a cotton ball, and was kicking her/his little feet around like crazy! At this point the peanut is too small for the movement to be felt. The heartbeat is strong and she said everything looks really great. We are right on schedule development-wise. On the print-out you can actually see the profile and can spot the nose. By the time we have the next ultrasound at 20 weeks, Baby Bennett will be 11 to 12 inches long and will weigh 10 to 12 oz. At that time we will know if it's a boy or a girl. At that point I will probably feel all that kicking! May be a swimmer like Daddy!

Dear Jenny and Jordan,

What a beautiful baby! I love Baby Bennett already. Definitely a swimmer, and very smart.

Love,

Mom
